This youngster wasn't going anywhere yet, but nobody had told the wings or the voice that. The nest is part of a series of structures built in the Idaho Birds of Prey National Conservation Area and this bird was part of a yearly banding program. With the parents off hunting, the kid spent the whole time after the experience stretching, hollering, and rehearsing a life it hadn't quite started living.
