A young ferruginous hawk, almost ready for life out of the nest, displays an angry countenance. Having just been banded and put back in his nest, being man-handled in the process, he might have reason for the sideways glance. The sky was streaking over in that unique way it does out here, and the whole sagebrush plain below went soft and pale behind him. I quickly took a final shot and left him to his attitude - and his view.
