PLATE 28At CapacityChapter III · Rivers & Canyons
I hiked out to Dedication Point while it was still daylight and waited to see what the sun would decide to do. Below, the river was high and fast due to the huge amount of snow we received that winter. As the sun finally made its way to the horizon the sky became salmon and gold all at once, and the river caught every bit of it. A lone raven, drifting on an unseen ribbon of air, takes it all in, perhaps recognizing as I did the beauty of the moment.
