I reached this lake in the late part of a summer day, when the wind finally quit and the whole basin went still. The granite and the big clouds settled onto the water cleanly, but not perfectly. It's a long walk in and the nights up here stay chilly even in August, so when the water holds calm like this, even if it's not perfect, I'll take every minute it gives me.
